These terms apply to all orders placed on retirementgift.co.uk. Please read them before you order.
About us
retirementgift.co.uk is operated by HITSUJI, 2 Sentier du Lavoir, 78640 Neauphle-le-Vieux, France. You can reach us at hello@retirementgift.co.uk.
Our products
Each portrait is drawn to order, by hand, from the photo you provide. On-screen images and previews are illustrative. We send you a sketch to approve before the final piece is inked, so you can check it is exactly right.
Placing an order
Your order is an offer to buy. A contract is formed when we send you an order or dispatch confirmation. We may decline or cancel an order — for example in the case of an obvious pricing error or unavailability — and if we do, we will refund any amount already paid.
Personalisation
You are responsible for the accuracy of any name, year or message you ask us to letter on the portrait. Please check the sketch carefully before approving it — once approved and inked, a personalised original cannot be changed.
Prices and payment
Prices are shown in pounds sterling (£) and include VAT where applicable. Payment is taken securely via Stripe; we do not store your card details.

Your right to cancel
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, consumers usually have 14 days to cancel an online order. However, this right does not apply to goods that are made to your specifications or are clearly personalised (regulation 28). As our items are made to order and/or personalised, they cannot be cancelled or returned once you have approved the sketch — except where they are faulty or damaged (see below).
Faulty or damaged items
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If your item arrives faulty or damaged, email hello@retirementgift.co.uk within 14 days of delivery with a photo, and we will arrange a replacement or a refund.
Our liability
We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. Otherwise, our liability in connection with any order is limited to the price paid for that order.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes may be brought before the courts of England and Wales. As a consumer, you also benefit from any mandatory consumer protections of the country in which you live.
