We are established in France and process UK customers’ data in accordance with the UK GDPR.

What data we collect

  • Order & contact details: name, email address, delivery address and order information.
  • Personalisation content: the photo you send for the drawing, plus any name, year or message to letter on the portrait.
  • Payment information: payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details.
  • Technical & usage data: collected via cookies and similar technologies (see “Cookies” below), subject to your consent.

How we use your data, and our legal bases

  • To process and deliver your order and provide customer support — performance of a contract.
  • To meet our legal and accounting obligations — legal obligation.
  • To measure site traffic and run advertising — consent (which you can withdraw at any time).

Who we share it with

We only share data with the providers needed to run the service:

  • Stripe — secure payment processing.
  • Google (Ads & Analytics) — traffic measurement and advertising, only if you consent.
  • Hostinger International Ltd — website hosting.
  • Delivery carriers — to deliver your order.

Some providers may process data outside the UK or EEA. Where they do, appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) are in place.

How long we keep it

We keep order data for as long as necessary to fulfil your order and to meet our legal and accounting obligations. Personalisation content is kept only as long as needed to produce and support your order.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, email hello@retirementgift.co.uk.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies. Essential cookies make the site work and do not require consent. Analytics and advertising cookies (Google) are only set after you accept them via our cookie banner — by default they are disabled (Google Consent Mode, set to “denied”).
